Hey everyone. We bought the “momma mobile” yesterday, and it is one mean momma mobile! It is a 2002 Honda CR-V EX, 4WD, black interior and exterior with all the trimmings! This is a major upgrade for us, not to mention the newest car we’ve had. We’ll miss the Integra but the CR-V is certainly something we can use for a long time. I am especially comforted by the superior safety and reliability ratings all manner of reviews have given our “mini-suv”. I guess we’re turning into a Honda family… 1 Acura Integra + 1 Honda CR-V = 2 Hondas. We’ll try to get pics up soon.
As for me, I am still riding the Metro and driving my “never-say-die” ‘94 Ford Aspire. And to think it was manufactured by Kia….
I’m juggling work and school and a pregnant wife… this week I was at a conference held in DC, Computers In Libraries.  I went to some really good sessions and some not so good ones, ate sushi, had lively discussions about post-modernism, drank some Belgian beer, had lively discussions about Web 2.0, and took a lot of notes. At some point I suppose I’ll have to process everything. My life over the past year has been precariously balanced on the precipice of Information Overload and this past week is a fine example.

So the fun with pregnancy continues! I am so excited to have tons of friends and family visit in the next few months. Thanks to all of you in advance for your offer to help get the place ready for baby girl!
I am really beginning to start feeling pregnant. I am fortunate only to begin feeling the worst of it now, in my eighth month. It has become increasingly difficult to play flute because of the great pressure that builds in my abdomen. I am starting to take it easy on the practing and begin to focus just on baby. It is harder to sleep and then get back to sleep. No more sleeping in late. Hips ache which makes housework hard (so don’t expect too much to be done when you come!) Nightmares! I am having worse visions and images than most horror movies. I think that I might write one now.
However, it’s not just physical ailments. We are having to grow up! We had to give up my Integra on Saturday. Don’t get me wrong, we were very blessed to have sold it so quickly and gotten a great price for it–but, I am not sure that I am ready for a momma mobile.
For humor, because there is never too much during this time, I thought I would quote from a great book, “Pregnancy Sucks for Men.”
I decided that, in some ways, having a pregnant wife was like dating a famous actress. They’re both insecure about their looks. They both need constant attention. And they both think that they’re fat. They’re also temperamental, need new clothing every month, and everywhere they go, people stare and want to touch them.
Yeah, it’s pretty close to that. I would add, both are having parties hosted for them, centered on them, and where they discuss things that are totally foreign. Melanie and Kari are hosting a shower for me next month. They joked that it would be great to show birthing videos on projectors in every room.
What a fun time of life.
Love
Katrina

Baby girl smiling at us! I don’t see a chin…I guess she can’t be a flutist! (Yeah!)

So I haven’t updated you with the stories about my pregnant absentmindedness.
Monday: I left my lights on overnight. Jonathan had to help jump my car in the snow the next morning at 8:30.
Wednesday: Locked my keys in my car while in Virginia. Jonathan drove 60 mins to come pick me up. We arrived back home at 1:30 AM.
Thursday: Forgot to bring a stand to a gig. A friend loaned me his spare. Also found out that another stand, missing since October, I had left at a performance in Virginia. (I had blamed Jonathan.)
Somewhere in there I left the remote control in the fridge and caught myself putting the milk in the cupboard.
The worst of it is that not only I am stupid, I am clumsy too! I just have to trust that it might improve after Baby is born! Through it all, Jonathan has been very patient and kind throughout. If he had any complaints about any of the stupids, I didn’t hear them.
Thanks Sweetie.
