Only a few more weeks!
So I guess my blog entries regarding pregnancy are numbered! This week is number 35–only five more weeks to go before our due date. I am feeling well minus being uncomfortable 24/7. Ha!
Our doctor’s appointment last week revealed that baby is moving down and preparing for her grand entrance (or exit). We saw her take three or four consecutive breaths, strengthening her lungs. Jonathan says she is going to be a screamer! Maybe a vocalist later in life….God help us!
Doctor told me that I was having a Braxton Hicks practice contraction as I was laying on the table–and now realize that I’ve been having so many of them, it’s easier to count the minutes in an hour that I am NOT having the contractions. They are painless, but driving with them is uncomfortable. During a contraction, it’s pretty cute because the tightening of the uterus reveals more of the baby. Since she’s moved, you can see her tiny bottom up towards the sky! A friend told me that I can now start spanking her!
I’ve been very blessed to have two family members come out this month. Marla came to do her Spring Break service project here! She vaccumed and cleaned my carpets for the entire apartment! I am so thankful. I know that she has seen her share of cat hair for the next several years. And at the end of the day, when I am sure that it would have been fun to go out, she was very understanding that I was so tired that I could do was sit and watch movies! The next week, my mom came out the next week to help prepare the nursery. The room looks so cute now! We put up a wallpaper border, assembled the crib, made a crib bumper and shopped for baby “essentials.” It was great fun.
I am still teaching lessons four days a week. The teaching itself is easy enough, but the driving is getting more difficult. I hope to continue for two or three more weeks. We’ll see. I think it will be obvious when it’s time to quit for awhile.
We’ve been so blessed to have had several baby showers from different circles of friends. People have been sooo supportive and excited to celebrate with us. Thank you! Photos should be up soon.
Jonathan & I will probably not be sending out formal baby announcement cards, so this blog & photo gallery will be your official site for news and photos. It will not be long now! Please keep our baby girl in your prayers. We are hoping for a full-term, healthy baby. Love to you all
