We went to the zoo with the Stewarts yesterday. It was fun even though rain threatened most of the day. Aliyah loved the elephant most, was scared by the hippo and was fascinated with gorillas eating! She kept doing the sign for eat while she was watching them eat.

Here is an interesting timeline.

We had our first beach time as a family on Wednesday last week. Jonathan had a holiday (Feast of the Assumption) so we got out of town to the Chesapeake Bay area. We had it on good authority from some great NCC moms that Breezy Point was the place to go. We had a fun time even though the humidity made it feel less coastal. Aliyah played with her first sand and loved splashing with us both.

ps..if any of you are going to Breezy Point, make sure that you bring $6 per adult, $4 per child over 2! We had to double back a bit to get cash.

Last week an old friend of ours Lotte came out to visit us and took us to our first Major League Soccer game–DC United v. LA Galaxy! We had a great time watching some good players (& celebrities) play in the rain. We got home about 3 hours past Aliyah’s bedtime but she did very well. Hopefully we’ll go to the MLS Championships which are being held in DC this year!

There are many things that I need to share with you all, but this one photo had to go up first. Aliyah loves the playground and can now say “swing, swing.”

Which is what she is laughing at here. I have to enjoy every minute!

Phew…we are back from a fabulous trip to California. We had a great time with family and Ezzy’s wedding. Aliyah absolutely loved the airplanes and probably made the connection on actually being inside one. She also took advantage of all the extra attention and decided to really solidify her walking abilities–now making her officially a toddler. ((sigh))Jonathan & I had a wonderful time at mi hermana’s wedding in Fresno. Esmeralda is one of my bosom friends from college. She was a beautiful bride and married a great guy.

We visited my grandma Marie and her new husband’s home in Roseville. They hosted a BBQ with family from the Sacramento area. Here is a photo of four generations!

Just a quick update post. There will be more info later and be sure to come back later for dozens of photos. I promise I won’t post all 200+ that we took!
