Well, we have almost recovered from getting our new windows in our apartment! We had to move all of our furniture away from the windows–including our computer. That put a cramp in our weekend as we weren’t able to do Skype, add photos to our gallery OR watch the TV show “Lost” online! Jonathan just set up the computer this morning, so I will work on the photos this week.
Aliyah is always doing funny new things. Last week she started asking to go to Target–even annunciating Target correctly. Wow. maybe we shouldn’t go to Target so often. Another new favorite word is Owive or olive. She can’t get enough of them!
Lastly, a few days ago she was getting her diaper changed and she kept repeating: “Ocean on eggs? Ocean on eggs?” It took me a bit, but remembered that the letter L is difficult for her. She was trying to ask me to put lotion on her legs!
Happy Birthday Grandpa Bucky! We love you!

Happy Valentine’s Weekend! On Thursday morning, Jonathan took us all out to brunch in Silver Spring. We had a wonderful breakfast and Aliyah loved being with her daddy. We all happily danced together and ignored the cheesy 80s songs! Aliyah had such a good time as a family, that she spontaneously said “I wuff you Daddy.” I think I might have seen a tear in Jonathan’s eye!
Aliyah has been talking and learning new words so fast recently. When we are out, I am particularly protective about conversations that she overhears since I don’t want to be correcting words like “fool” or “stupid” or worse!!
She has started singing songs too. I have been singing the lullaby from Dumbo “Baby Mine” since she was born. A few weeks ago, she started singing it to me! Needless to say, I was flattered–despite the monotone voice!
Emotions are also a hot topic with Aliyah. She loves to identify emotions like happy, sad, and mad. She hears a crying baby and says “Baby sad!” She trying to look mad sometimes, but mostly I just laugh at her and she can’t hold it any longer. My favorite, though has been happy. Particularly when the whole family is together, she loves to tell us that she’s happy–or tell us that we’re happy.
On Wednesday, we celebrated Valentine’s Day with our Mom’s Group friends. We really celebrated Violet’s 2nd bday! Here are several of the kids enjoying red cupcakes! Happy Birthday Violet!
I’ve updated gallery with a few more photos. Jonathan has been working on the code of the site. You can now add comments!! We’ll finish the upgrades (and colors) soon!

Time to celebrate! We went to Jonathan’s work last week and took him to the Graduate Fair. He ordered the graduation ceremony regalia AND his signet ring! Both our families gave very generous gifts for the ring. Jonathan was really excited!
Jonathan also was approved for a promotion to go with the new degree! We are grateful and very proud of him. With all this to celebrate, the three of us had a nice lunch together and even enjoyed a Starbucks coffee. Aliyah charmed the staff so much that they gave her a chocolate milk. I drank most of it, but she sure loved the tastes she got!
