We made it! On July 5th Jonathan, Katrina and Sapphira set out from Fresno in a U-Haul truck. We arrived in Maryland on the 10th. It was certainly an adventure but not one we want to repeat soon! The trip actually went quite smoothly, except for a breakdown in New Mexico. We’re still trying to get U-Haul to reimburse us our hotel for the night.Our new apartment is nice and much larger than our old one. Sapphy loves the extra space and large windows though she has trouble running the length of the apartment! She makes it halfway then starts running crooked.
Katrina participated in a flute master class as soon as we arrived. She did very well and it was a great opportunity to get to know her new professor and the other grad students. It was a tough class – kind of a flute boot camp before school starts!
Jonathan is currently looking for a job and Katrina is prepping for school. Other than that, we’re just adjusting to life in the DC metro area. Humidity, people, rain, traffic… we have many stories to tell. Contact us if you need our new address and phone number. Hope to have more pics up soon!

Aloha! The past few months have been crazy at the Smith household!In May Jonathan graduated with his Bachelor’s Degree from Fresno State. He worked hard and finished with a 4.0 GPA for his final semester! If you’d like to see some pics, click on the “Pictures” link to the right!
Katrina has accepted an assistantship at the University of Maryland in the fall of this year to work on a Master’s Degree in Music! She is excited about being a full time student again. This of course means that we will be moving soon. Preperations are under way! Once we learn of our contact information, we’ll be sure to let you know.
A few weeks ago we accompanied Jonathan’s family and the Atwater & Buhach H.S. bands to Hawai’i for a week of fun in the sun! We had a wonderful time, and hope to get some pictures scanned so you can see the beautiful island and our farmers’ tans!

Not much to report at this time.
Katrina will be taking the GRE tommorrow (thursday) so keep her in your minds and prayers. Jonathan has been studying hard and spending his free time working on the websites. Sapphira seems to be going through her terrible twos (even though she’s five months old). She is running around crazy one second then cuddly the next.
As for the site… I still haven’t gotten around to scanning pics yet, but I promise I will soon! First I need to 800×640-proof our sites since we get occasional complaints… then it will be wedding pics and a complete makeover of Jonathan’s site.

Another month, another update. :p This summer has been a hot one in Fresno, so Katrina and I have been escaping to the mountains as often as possible! We’ve fallen in love with Kings Canyon in the past couple years and it has become our refuge.
We’ve inherited a scanner, so hopefully we’ll have some pictures scanned and up soon! Sapphy is growing quickly and the apartment seems to be getting smaller for her, but there isn’t much we can do about that.
We have also been strongly compelled to go overseas and spend a year teaching however we’re not sure where that is supposed to fit into the grand scheme of things since I am in school for another year and Katrina plans to begin graduate school in 2003. God must have a plan.We’ll try to update again before another month! Hopefully with pictures!
